As youngsters we enter the world of work with little knowledge of what lies ahead, we often fall into a career path with little or no prior experience… and then, some years on, we realise that the path we’ve chosen no longer feels right and we yearn for change. By this time we feel trapped in a particular career or organisation, having attracted the responsibilities of a mortgage, partner, children, pension, lifestyle, along the way. Whilst we know what we’re doing doesn’t feel right, we end up trapped fearful of making a change until, or unless, it is forced upon us. The idea of change may be overwhelming or we fear we’re too old and it’s too late.
Rather than busting these myths and taking responsibility for our future we stay put, finding ourselves on a treadmill, dreading Monday morning but feeling unable to jump off. Even when we are forced to change job due to redundancy, we often leap straight back into another role or environment similar to the last, preferring security of the known than daring to live our dream…
Albert Einstein is quoted to have defined insanity as
“doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
So what if there is another way?
What if you could plan your ideal career change whenever you choose?
From our experience of working with many people in career transition, it’s all about gaining CLARITY, deciding what you really want from your life and career and then focusing on opportunities to achieve what you want.
In our From Crisis to Clarity programme we provide you with the space to be creative and offer activities designed to help you to sort out what it is you really want to do with your life. As a result you are in a more resourceful place to make the change you really want.
